Torreguadiaro renovation project - House Higson

The architectural project: The Concept  was to renovate a simple spanish townhouse, well position on a spectacular plot with endless sea view, into  a modern and full function villa - making the most of the views and the natural elements. The property required extensive modernisation and elevation of quality. Architect Bradley falconer took the bull by the horns on this one and completely changed the facade of the property making it unrecognisable from the original property. To get this villa up to current standards and styles it was imperative to reorganise the whole house. The project6 started with extending and enlarging the lounge area, replacing and enlarging the window to make the very most of the view of the sea and surrounding area. The original kitchen was incorporated into the living room and the new kitchen was moved down to the pool area. This lower area was further enhanced by enlarging the space created with the incorporating of the garage into the open plan family kitchen. The full front of the property has floor to ceiling windows that bring light into the area and give easy access to the updated pool and garden area. The bedrooms and bathrooms have all been brought up to date..The final part of the project to give the villa modern feel was to add a sculptural frame on the top terrace off the master bedroom with a cover with a  with glass roof making it the perfect all year around space. All in all a well executed project the mix old and new perfectly to keep the authentic feeling of a spanish home but with all the requirements of a modern villa.
